Learn a bit more about who I am and what drives me
Hello! I'm a passionate software developer with a strong focus on building reliable, scalable, and efficient full stack applications. From backend systems to frontend interfaces, I love creating complete solutions that solve real-world problems and offer seamless user experiences.
Before entering the world of software, I served as a firefighter and EMT — a role that taught me the value of teamwork, clear communication, and staying calm under pressure. Working in high-stakes environments helped me develop critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to remain focused no matter the challenge. These qualities now shape how I approach software development and problem-solving every day.
While working full-time as a first responder, I pursued and earned my Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering. Balancing long shifts and emergency calls with rigorous coursework wasn't easy — but it reflects my commitment to growth, discipline, and my passion for building meaningful technology.
When I'm not coding, you can find me hiking or brushing up on my photography skills. These activities help me recharge and stay creative, which I bring back to my development work.
I believe that great software is built on clean code, thoughtful architecture, and user-centered design. My goal is to combine technical excellence with real-world perspective to create solutions that are not only functional, but impactful.

My Resume
My professional experience and qualifications
Education
Degree in Software Engineering
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Southern New Hampshire University. Throughout my studies, I gained a solid foundation in computer science, algorithms, and software development.
I worked with various programming languages, frameworks, and tools to develop both individual and team-based projects. My coursework emphasized problem-solving, critical thinking, and creating scalable, user-centered applications.
I also completed hands-on projects that helped me apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios. The experience of balancing academics with my career as a first responder strengthened my time management skills and dedication to continuous learning.
Degree in Fire Science
I earned my degree in Fire Science, where I gained in-depth knowledge in fire prevention, emergency response, and fire safety protocols. My studies focused on the science of fire behavior, fire protection systems, and emergency management strategies.
Throughout my program, I developed a strong understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of fire science, including hands-on training in firefighting techniques, hazardous materials handling, and search and rescue operations.
Additionally, my degree equipped me with leadership and communication skills, which were crucial in my role as a first responder. It also provided me with the foundation to navigate high-pressure situations, prioritize safety, and make informed decisions quickly during emergencies.

IT Administrator
Managed and maintained IT infrastructure for the department, ensuring seamless communication systems, network security, and equipment functionality. Provided technical support to ensure reliable operation of essential systems used by first responders.
EMT
Provide emergency medical care in the field, including trauma care, CPR, and patient transport. Assist in organizing and coordinating emergency responses, maintaining calm and effective communication with patients and colleagues during critical situations.
Firefighter/EMT
Respond to emergency medical calls, provide advanced life support, and ensure the safety and well-being of passengers. Actively collaborate with other emergency response teams in high-stress environments, demonstrating resilience and quick decision-making under pressure.
Skills
Languages & Frameworks: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React, Python, C++, Swift, Java.
Tools & Technologies: Git, GitHub, Visual Studio Code (VS Code), Docker, Node.js, MongoDB, MySQL, AWS
Other Skills: Responsive Design, UI/UX Principles, etc.
My Portfolio
Check out some of my recent work

Python Budget Tracker
A command-line application for tracking personal expenses with features to add, view, and persist data. Built using Python and JSON for data storage. I was responsible for designing and developing the full application, including user interaction, data management, and file handling.

iPhone Grocery List App
A simple iOS app built using SwiftUI and SwiftData that allows users to create, view, and manage a grocery list. It features real-time data persistence, item deletion, and a clean, user-friendly interface. I was responsible for designing and developing the full app, including the data model, UI, and functionality.

Youtube to mp3
A Python script that uses the yt-dlp library to download and convert audio from YouTube videos into MP3 format. The program handles folder creation, prompts user input for the video URL, and saves the file with the video title. I developed this tool to automate audio extraction tasks and improve workflow efficiency.

Not the ants, man!
"Not The Ants, Man!!" is a top-down shooter where players control Scott Pymm, a world-renowned exterminator, on a mission to eliminate pests at a mini-golf course. After an accident causes him to shrink, Scott must navigate through the course's nine holes and defeat the Ant Queen to return to his normal size. I contributed to the development of the game alongside two other classmates, focusing on gameplay mechanics and level design.
